Very nice...sonorous, creamy chords and "broad brush strokes" of sound. Really cool...I liked it....shades of Shew.

I was impressed by your jazz playing. It was thoughtful and lyrical.

I was really hearing the Lee influence in your playing, which of course I seriously dig.

The faculty quintet went really well. An interesting piece and well executed.

What a huge difference in sound! The sound of the Monette is just so much "thicker" than the Bach C. That was a really good example of the differences between Monette and Bach. Although your playing on both pieces was great, the sound quality was like night and day. I did like the dynamic contrasts you used in the Rachmaninoff. It came across nicely, even on my computer speakers.

The latest Magnificat clip worked. So surreal to hear solo trumpet and chorus. Bravo again. Those intervals were challenging I bet. Nothing like that Monette high register sound. So mellow and yet full of overtones at the same time

Aloha Pete. Loved your solo-reminded me of Dave Douglas and John McNeil. I felt a strong sense of total improvisation and transcendence of the chord changes. You built well on your initial statement. Some pretty intricate passages with a strong sense of the beat. Great interaction with the rhythm section.

The Rachmaninoff was beautifully done. Bravo!! Nice (article in your newsletter) on section playing. I will definitely use your suggestions with the Maui Community Band trumpet section.

Nice solo, Pete. Lots of cool Woody Shaw-ish hip, angular lines

Very nice. Some really good ideas (and rhythms) and played with a nice touch. I feel like too many players blow too hard and sacrifice feel and touch.

Thanks for sending your solo my way. Your sounding awesome these days. Your sound is darker and richer than I can ever remember.
